- Director of Facilities and Maintenance
- The George Mason University, Facilities Management Department is currently seeking candidates for a Director of Facilities and Maintenance working on the Prince William campus supporting Mason's Biomedical Research Laboratory (BRL).
Mason's BRL contains laboratories where university researchers develop and test the next generation of vaccines, treatments and diagnostics to protect citizens against biological threats and infectious diseases. The BRL is a highly specialized facility which operates under a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) guideline.
This position will be responsible for directing and assisting in the overall planning, direction and coordination of facilities operations and management services at the BRL: as well as for maintaining all mechanical, electrical and associated control systems at optimal performance levels.
To be considered for this position you must have a B.S. degree in engineering, a related field of study coupled with extensive experience in the maintenance and operation of a highly technical biomedical research or hospital facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, you should have experience with facility requirements that include animal laboratories and biocontainment requirements. Previous management or supervisory experience is required.

- Biomed Tech
- The Biomed Tech assists in the repair, preventative maintenance, calibration & verification of biomedical equipment. Handles a variety of changing duties resulting from the complexities of electrical apparatus & equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Tests electrical & electronic components to locate shorts, faulty connections & defective parts. Repairs, performs PM & performance verification on biomedical equipment as per the clinical ladder.
· Documents activities, orders parts, maintains inventory & technical library.
· Receives technical training.
· Assists in equipment installation.
Requirements:
Education: Associate degree in biomedical equipment technology or equivalent.
Experience: 1-3 years experience in maintenance, repair, & troubleshooting of biomed equipment
Special Training: ability to see, hear, and orally communicate

- Biomedical Equipment Technician II Position Supporting USAMMA in PA
- Biomedical Technicians will work meticulously with the Medical Maintenance Division to ensure each unit’s reset requirements are scheduled, coordinated, targeted and completed. Technicians must have the skill sets and training to conduct services on damaged and overhauled equipment, and medical maintenance on equipment requiring life cycle examination. All performance maintenance checks and services (PMCS) will be conducted IAW by the maintenance requirements of the service manual(s) provided by the manufacturer or the Department of Defense (DOD).
The BMET will support USAMMA in maintaining, calibrating, repairing and overhauling the Army’s inventory of medical equipment. This includes equipment within APS, units returning from deployments, MRI converted units and equipment on USAMMA’s stock record account.
Education: Military BMET Training or A.A.S Degree in BMET
