Postings are accepted at the sole discretion of the VBA. Generally they are accepted from the following:
Any employer of personnel with jobs related to medical equipment service, management, education, research and regulation.
Employment agencies who are corporate members of the VBA.
We may also accept postings from others on behalf of a particular employer, if the contact listed in the posting is that employer.
The employer and/or job opening may be located anywhere in the world.
What does it cost to post job openings on the VBA site?
There is no charge. This is a free service provided for the benefit of our members and the Biomedical community.
How long are postings listed on the site?
Job postings automatically expire 90 days after approval. They may be renewed for 30 day periods by the person who submitted the posting.
Why must my posting be approved before being listed on the site?
To prevent pranksters from posting junk to our web site. Also to ensure quality postings that are relevent and useful to our visitors.
How long does it take for approval?
Generally within one or two days, However it may occasionally take longer depending on the availability of someone to review new postings.
How do I know whether my posting has been approved?
You will receive an automated e-mail message after your posting has been reviewed. It will inform you of the status of your posting and provide a link for you to manage your posting.
What happens if my posting is not approved?
As long as the posting appears to be legitimate, you will receive an e-mail message with the reason it was not accepted. It will also include a link that you can use to modify and resubmit the posting.
How do I make changes to my posting?

It will automatically be removed from the jobs page. You will then have 30 days from the expiration date to renew your posting. If not renewed, your posting will be deleted from the system.
Why have I not received my confirmation e-mail?
Some possible reasons:
The posting has not been reviewed yet.
You supplied an inactive or misspelled e-mail address.
The e-mail was trapped by your spam filter. (please check your spam folder, or contact your isp or e-mail system administrator)
The posting appeared to be a prank and was deleted.
How do I manage my posting?
Go to the posting manager using the link provided on your confirmation page and in your confirmation e-mail message. Depending on the status of your posting you will be able to perform some or all of the following actions:
Make changes to your posting. All edited postings must be reapproved. Your original posting is not saved, so you cannot undo changes. Be sure to keep a backup of your original.
Renews your posting for 30 days from the current date. NOTE: If your posting will currently expire in more than 30 days, selecting this option will reduce the time until expiration.
Sets expiration to the current date and removes the posting from the jobs page. If you renew within 30 days, the posting will be placed back on the jobs page.
Deletes your posting. WARNING: this action is immediate and not reversible. Confirm by first clicking the small box near the DELETE button.
Leaves the manager page without performing any action.
I cannot get my posting to look exactly like I want. What is happening?
For a number of reasons, including maintaining consistency on the jobs page, we only allow a limited amount of formatting. You may use blank spaces, carriage returns, single blank lines, and common punctuation characters. Anything else, including HTML tags, are discarded. There is also a limitation on the length, so if your posting is truncated you will need to edit it down to a shorter version.
Why don't the links in my posting work?
In order for addresses to be formatted into active links, they must be written in a specific way:
e-mail addresses: mailto:xxxx@xxxx.xxx
web addresses: http://xxxxx.xxx
You must also leave a blank space before and after the address, and no blank spaces within. Addresses that are unusually long, complex, or contain unusual characters can not be formatted into an active link by our system. However, the address will still be shown so visitors can copy-and-paste them.
Who can I contact if I need help?
Please read through this FAQ first and try to resolve the issue yourself. Please do not ask us to edit your posting for you, that is why the management page is provided. If you still need help e-mail the VBA webmaster: webmgr-at-vabiomed.org
